About us

TibaSalama Digital Health App is a social enterprise dedicated to delivering healthcare services to pregnant women and children aged 0-5 in rural, hard-to-reach areas of Tanzania. Our mission is to eliminate preventable maternal and child deaths by providing essential healthcare services. We achieve this through close collaboration with Local Government Authorities (LGAs), Community Health Workers (CHWs), and local health facilities in the project areas. We aim to eradicate preventable maternal deaths.

TibaSalama Digital Health App is registered under Tanzania’s Business Name Registration Act of 2013, with registration number 547059, acquired on July 11, 2023.

Every day, approximately 800 women around the world die from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth, equating to one woman every two minutes. 99% of these deaths occur in developing countries. Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) target 3.1 aims to reduce maternal mortality to less than 70 deaths per 100,000 live births by 2030.

What We Focus On:
  • Education and Empowerment: Addressing socio-economic factors affecting healthcare decisions and enhancing community intervention awareness through door-to-door education programs.
  • Improvement of Referral Services: Enhancing transportation and communication for pregnant women during childbirth by providing affordable and timely services and ensuring referrals to nearby health facilities, particularly government health centers.
  • Training: Providing education for healthcare providers to ensure high-quality and timely care for pregnant women and children aged 0-5 years.

We envision a future where no mother dies from pregnancy-related complications and every newborn thrives. By transforming healthcare delivery and reducing preventable maternal and child mortality in Tanzania, we strive to make this vision a reality.
