About us

TibaSalama Digital Health Company Limited is a Tanzanian-based social enterprise committed to transforming maternal and child health for underserved populations-particularly pregnant women and children aged 0-5 years in rural areas.

Registered under the Companies Act of 2002 with registration number 182700592 by the Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA), TibaSalama operates from its Headquarters in Dar es Salaam and a Sub-Office in Tanga and Dodoma Region, serving communities across Tanzania.

Why TibaSalama? Many pregnant women and young children in rural communities across Tanzania face serious health challenges-or even lose their lives-due to preventable and treatable conditions. The reasons are many: long distances to health facilities, poor infrastructure, lack of transportation, limited health awareness, harmful traditional beliefs and practices, delayed access to essential health information, financial constraints, and the absence of health insurance coverage for most families.

TibaSalama exists to change that story-by bringing healthcare closer through digital transformation, empowering communities with knowledge and the right tools, and ensuring no woman or child is left behind.

Our Mission

  • To eliminate preventable maternal and child deaths by harnessing the power of digital health technology and strengthening community-based care systems.

Our Vision

  • A Tanzania where every pregnant woman and child-regardless of location-has access to timely, quality, and affordable healthcare.

What We do:

TibaSalama bridges healthcare gaps in rural and remote areas by:

  • Empowering Community Health Workers (CHWs) with digital tools, training, and support to reach mothers and children at the last mile.
  • Using mobile technology and AI-driven innovations to deliver accurate health information, remote support, and real-time referrals.
  • Collaborating with Local Government Authorities (LGAs) and rural health facilities to strengthen access to essential services, particularly antenatal care, postnatal care, immunizations, and nutrition.
  • Deploying low-cost AI-ultrasound devices to enable early detection of high-risk pregnancies and encourage women to start antenatal clinic visits early.
  • Economically empowering pregnant and postpartum women by providing affordable microloans to help them access healthcare services, improve daily nutrition, and grow small businesses-reducing poverty and dependency while promoting long-term family wellbeing.
  • TibaSalama also sells and distributes affordable delivery kits to pregnant women to help them give birth safely and with dignity. Additionally, we sell reusable sanitary pads at low cost for postpartum mothers to improve hygiene and maternal health-especially for those in rural areas with limited access to healthcare. This initiative also serves as a key source of income generation for the company, enabling us to sustain operations and expand our services to reach more communities.
